For over 25 years, ingenuity, dedication and honesty has made Tartan an industry leader in the development and deployment of oil and gas downhole tools in North America.
Tartan was the first company to specialize exclusively on thru-tubing technologies, leading to some of its most important advances:
- Tartan invented the Anti-Rotation Device (ARD) to remove the reactive torque from the tool string at the rig floor. ARD pioneered mud motor technology for workover and completion applications for the first time.
- Tartan partnered with innovative energy companies to develop the patented ability to cement sliding sleeves downhole. This allows the efficient completion of hybrid well designs for today’s most challenging extended reach laterals.
Manufacturing
Tartan Completions has a full-service manufacturing centre in Edmonton, Alberta, with 23 machines including computer numerical control (CNC) units, live tooling equipment, and 5-Axis machines, permitting us to machine all the parts designed by our engineering department.
Our manufacturing response time and ability to adapt to the ever-changing energy sector environment enable us to provide immediate, reliable solutions for our customers’ challenges.
Engineering and Design
Our design process starts with collaboration between our customers, field operations, and the engineering staff. We discuss the requirements, parameters, and concepts for your project. The final design is modeled in 3D and assessed using finite element analysis (FEA). Tartan Completions equipment designs are continually being reviewed as new conditions arise under different applications and challenging downhole requirements.
Quality Management System
Tartan Completions is in the process of being certified to the ISO 9001:2008 standard, through which we take a proven, systematic approach to managing our company’s processes. This enables us to turn out products that consistently satisfy our customers’ expectations. To develop our QMS, Tartan has undertaken the following steps:
- Establish
- Document
- Implement
- Maintain
- Improve
